I didn't make up that word, the one in my subject title. You can find it in Google, though not in Oxford. I believe it means a blog or blogger that has gone on hiatus. That's what I need to do here. I've decided to try another creative writing endeavor, at least for a while. It's that NaNoMo project where wannabe writers like myself try their hand at creating a novel, or novella, during the month of November.

This is probably a good time to hiatus anyway as my internet access has been problematic at best. I just haven't been able to blog nor visit blogs the way I want. Okay, I have competing interests too, like fantasy football right now. But the fact that I'm losing my free access to the internet at home isn't helping. Also, my home computer wants to do its own thing more and more, instead of doing what I want. So I probably need better internet access or a better computer. Most likely both.

Though I can't say when and how I will return, I would like to take this opportunity to say how (A) Touched (B) Flattered and (C) Humbled I am at the attention I've received here at this site. I will try to "make the rounds" occasionally as I learn much from you and your life experiences. Since I don't subscribe to any newspapers or magazines and rarely ever crack a book, what I read at your blogs pretty much shapes my view of life and the world around me. It's always educational, fun too.

I have enjoyed your writing for the short time that I've been visiting. At least you have the confidence to try your hand at something you dream of. I'm still too rusty after not using my creative writing skills for over 20 years, but I hope to get there eventually as well. And if that's gay, then I'll eat my crocs. ;)

Take good care and don't be a stranger!

Well, that's understandable. Once you make the plunge and get that DSL line you'll find it a lot more enjoyable to blog. It is frustrating when the computer hangs up all the time. My granddaughter is doing that writing thing so I hope you have fun and learn something in the process. Come and visit when you fell up to it.

I'll really miss you, Dave. It was so nice knowing that you were just up the road a piece --- you have been a kindred spirit. That being said, --- have a great time following your own muse and come back to us when you hit a wall in your writings. I have enjoyed your talent.

Congratulations on the big Wolverine win over Ball State today, Dave! You must be walking tall.

I'm trying to quit blogging (again), too.

My theory is that bloggers are like serial killers--they make take the odd hiatus, but they don't fully stop until they're dead or in prison. So you'll be back. We'll be around.

First Bernadette now you!
I have to admit you two have me contemplating the exact same thing.
Blogging was fun while I was off work in the summer. Now that I am back to working more than 40 hours, and I write pr junk or website copy all day, blogging isn't what it was for me just a couple of months ago!

How's the NaNoWriMo coming? You're like 2/3rd of the way through the month. My granddaughter is doing this too. I hope you aren't as stressed about this as she is. Good luck, it will be interesting to see the results, I hope you will share with us.

Come back soon, Dave. I don't blog as frequently as I used to, life is pretty busy. Make sure you lurk around every so often.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Hi Dave,
Now don't stay away too long from blogging. Novels are a lot of work and often writing becomes a lonely proposition. So hope you will drop in every once in awhile and be back to blogging soon.

You finished those yardsale books, eh? I (one among many) will be sad if you discontinue. I count on you for hometown connectedness and I already miss Bonnie. But I certainly understand the feeling that these things don't have an infinite lifespan. Be well.

Just wondering how the NaNo experience is going. As you know, I tried it last year and succeeded. If you can call 51,000 words of barely readable drivel a success. I did learn a lot in the experience though. Several of the better passages I have used or will use in the future on other projects. This year, no time or inclination to even try. I plan on trying again next year though.
